Effect of TZDs on plasma levels and adipose expression of adiponectin in mice. Effect of TZDs on plasma concentrations (A), mRNA levels of adiponectin (B), or TNF-α (C) in lean and obese mice were investigated. Male 13-week-old lean and db/db mice were divided into four groups: control, TGZ, PGZ, and RGZ groups. After 2 weeks of the treatment of 0.2% (wt/wt) TGZ, 0.01% PGZ, or 0.5% RGZ, plasma and subcutaneous fat RNA samples were prepared and analyzed. Values are means ± SE. *P < 0.05, **P < 0.01 compared with control chow-treated lean or obese group, respectively. ¶P < 0.05 compared with lean control group.
