Calibration of absorption data. After each experimental protocol, the effects of antimycin A (Anti A) and KCN were obtained to establish the fully oxidized and reduced state (A). Using the antimycin A spectra as a reference, absorption data were represented as the percent reduction relative to complete reduction established by the spectra obtained in the presence of cyanide (B). The percent reduction is defined in research design and methods.
