SCIENTIFIC SESSIONS

The 79th annual American Diabetes Association Scientific Sessions will be held in San Francisco, California, on 7–11 June 2019, at the Moscone Center. The largest of its kind, this meeting brings together scientists and health care professionals from around the world who are involved in diabetes research and care. DIABETES IS PRIMARY

Diabetes is Primary will be held in San Francisco, California, on 7 June 2019. The American Diabetes Association will bring together health care professionals interested in the clinical management of diabetes and its complications for an innovative educational initiative developed specifically for the primary care community. STANDARDS OF MEDICAL CARE IN DIABETES—2019

American Diabetes Association “Standards of Medical Care in Diabetes” are based on a complete review of the relevant literature by a diverse group of highly trained clinicians and researchers. After weighing the quality of evidence, from rigorous double-blind clinical trials to expert opinion, recommendations are drafted, reviewed, and submitted for approval to the American Diabetes Association Executive Committee. Diabetes Core Update is a monthly audio podcast devoted to presenting and discussing the latest clinically relevant articles from the American Diabetes Association’s scholarly journals. PATHWAY TO STOP DIABETES CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

The American Diabetes Association is pleased to open the Call for Nominations for Pathway to Stop Diabetes Awards. Pathway provides substantial support to exceptional scientists who are early in their diabetes research careers or who are established in other disciplines but are interested in applying their expertise to diabetes research. IDF CONGRESS 2019

The International Diabetes Federation (IDF) Congress will be held in Busan, Korea, 2–6 December 2019. The IDF Congress explores new areas in diabetes research, education, and public health. Key objectives include promoting better understanding of the global diabetes pandemic and influencing the implementation of health care initiatives to improve the lives of the millions of people living with diabetes and the many more at risk.
