  • Data are means ± SE, with the numbers of rats in parentheses. Freshly prepared islets from each experimental group were incubated with either 2 or 20 mmol/l glucose in the presence or absence or triolein (1 mmol/l) for 60 min at 37°C. At the end of the incubation, aliquots of media were removed for the insulin determination. Incubations were in triplicate for each experimental condition.
