  • Data are means ± SE for the number (n) of islets perifused from each subject. Islets isolated from normal human subjects were perifused in the presence of 3 and 11 mmol/l glucose and 11 mmol/l glucose and 1 mmol/l tolbutamide. The perifusate was sampled every 20 s and analyzed for insulin content and oscillatory activity.
