Data were obtained from the perfusion experiments shown in Figs. 4–6 and represent the amounts of insulin (pmol) and glucagon (ng) released during the 20-min stimulation period. Arginine (20 mmol/l) was used as the stimulus. The hormone amount is calculated as the area under the curve, using the secretion rate at min 0 as the basal value.
