Plasma parameters after 3.75 h of lipid (Lip) or glycerol (Gly) infusion into rats preadministered with metformin (Met) or vehicle (Con) and net Rd or HGO during the final 45 min of this period. By ANOVA, values for plasma glucose (P < 0.01), FFAs (P < 0.001), and TAG (P < 0.001) measured at the end of the infusion differed between groups. Post hoc: *P < 0.001 and †P < 0.05 vs. Con-Lip; ‡P < 0.05 vs. Con-Gly. n = 10–13 for plasma metabolites and n = 5–9 for adiponectin and Rd or HGO per group.
