  • Data show the gene expression profile in β-cellPdx1−/− islets (pool of 15 islets) incubated in RPMI-1640 media with 11 mmol/l glucose for 24 h (n = 6 for β-cellPdx1+/+ islets and n = 4 for β-cellPdx1−/− islets). The relative levels of mRNA transcripts were normalized to the levels of β-actin mRNA transcripts in the same experiments. Results for β-cellPdx1−/− islets are presented as percentage of gene expression levels in β-cellPdx1+/+ islets (WT); P < 0.05 is considered a significant difference using an unpaired t test.
